I use the GUI, gmplayer, and the gmplayer symlink was pointing to the wrong executable in /usr/local/bin vice /usr/bin. I updated the symlink to point to /usr/bin however for some reason that totally screwed things up. Long story short, I rebuilt from source and all is well with Mplayer now. It plays the http://icecast-beta.timlradio.co.uk/absoluteclassicrock.ogg=C2=A0correctly with sound.=C2=A0 > >=20 > > Putting the URL into xmms2 shows no errors when entered however the > > log > > file shows them. > >=20 > > xmms2> add http://icecast-beta.timlradio.co.uk/absoluteclassicrock. > > ogg > > xmms2> play > > xmms2> stop=C2=A0=C2=A0 > You'll have to keep an eye on the log and see what it says after > 'xmms2 > add'.=C2=A0=C2=A0No need to play it because adding the file will attempt = to > start > a download to see if it can be played. >=20 > >=20 > > 21:17:06 ERROR: ../src/xmms/xform.c:1341: Couldn't set up chain for > > 'ht > > tp://icecast-beta.timlradio.co.uk/absoluteclassicrock.ogg' (5) > This is the final message but it's the ones leading up to this that > tell you what the problem might be. >=20 I can't seem to figure out where to look this up at=C2=A0 Failed in file ../src/lib/xmmstypes/value.c on=C2=A0=C2=A0row 206 Here's a pastebin of my server config and plug-ins config=C2=A0 https://pastebin.com/A35TtqrE This works just fine as it always has xmms2> add Music xmms2> list ->[1/2] RAINBOW - Stranded (04:32) =C2=A0 [2/3] RAINBOW - Can't Let You Go (04:24) =C2=A0 [3/4] RAINBOW - Fool For The Night (04:07) Total playtime: 0:13:03 --=20 Chris KeyID 0xE372A7DA98E6705C 31.11972; -97.90167 (Elev. 1092 ft) 20:10:58 up 3 days, 11:18, 2 users, load average: 0.52, 0.37, 0.35 Description: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS, kernel 4.13.0-38-generic --=-feW86+k+WjkXcCh+QhzL Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iEYEABECAAYFAlrJcvgACgkQ43Kn2pjmcFzUkQCghHR/3HJ6Kidu/uly9AGHL+DQ WWkAmwU7uG2o19GpklCyKTQKaSfuhcxV =OfUv -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-feW86+k+WjkXcCh+QhzL--
