I can find no way when compiling from source to do the usual --debug when compiling. I think I've Googled every way I can to try and find 'xmms2 debug' and it doesn't seem to exist even though the Ubuntu docs for xmms2d say it does. Maybe this is all I'll get when running xmms2d -v xmms2d -v =C2=A0INFO: ../src/xmms/log.c:49: Initialized logging system :) 19:40:31 ERROR: ../src/xmms/ipc.c:805: Couldn't setup IPC listening on 'unix:///tmp/xmms-ipc-chris'. 19:40:31 FATAL: ../src/xmms/main.c:538: IPC failed to init! But, I am persistent and have already spent over a week on this. Good thing I'm retired and don't have much else to do :) --=20 Chris KeyID 0xE372A7DA98E6705C 31.11972; -97.90167 (Elev. 1092 ft) 19:35:34 up 4 days, 10:43, 2 users, load average: 0.62, 1.19, 0.94 Description: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS, kernel 4.13.0-38-generic --=-NrFm+jXPaDC1kIF+vl/z Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iEYEABECAAYFAlrKvV4ACgkQ43Kn2pjmcFzOagCeK04ny5iJ5ALA4VzWS/RR5jzW /oQAn3QM+fvEXpQFQRkE3VMg1YGL+LsL =1nHE -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-NrFm+jXPaDC1kIF+vl/z--
