I should say that my programming days are at least 30 years in the past, and then it was using the Ferranti Astral assembly language, not C, so if I'm to poke around in the code I'll need my hand holding. Any Gentoo machine spends a lot of time compiling, and I also spend 24x7 running BOINC projects, so I was hoping to find a simple way to display the system load average. Gkrellfire is the only thing I've found so far, but it needs some TLC. I'd prefer just a list of numbers anyway, like those shown by the /top/ command. -- Regards, Peter.
