I am using an Echo Audio Layla3g 16ch audio interface (8 analog / 8 digital ins / outs) and the drivers are written for ALSA so I'm stuck using ALSA.

I just installed Ekiga 3.2.7 from source via ekiga.org after being forced off Skype after their requiring I upgrade v4.2->v4.3 (Skype 4.3 doesn't support ALSA) - Need help configuring Jack Audio and Alsa in Ekiga.

Audio device selection in Ekiga doesn't seem to find the Jack plugs, it only lists;
SILENT (Ekiga/Ekiga)
Default (PTLIB/ALSA)
Layla3G (PTLIB/ALSA)
Layla3G (1) (PTLIB/ALSA)
ptlib pulse plugin (PTLIB/Pulse)

chances are Layla3g is my HW:0,0 (analog channels) and Layla3G(1) is HW:0,1 (digital channels) HOWEVER neither selection works

this is my asound.conf file which I haven't changed from when I was using Skype:

# ALSA conf file for Skype and Jackd

pcm.rawjack {
    type jack
    playback_ports {
        0 system:playback_1
        1 system:playback_2
    }
    capture_ports {
        0 system:capture_1
        1 system:capture_2
    }
}

pcm.jack {
    type plug
    slave { pcm "rawjack" }
    hint {
        description "JACK Audio Connection Kit"
    }
}

pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave { pcm "rawjack" }
}
