Here’s what I get from California:

$ Hector:/Users/john> gnucash-cli -V -Q dump asx QAN
QAN:
        type => 1
      symbol => QAN

        last => 10.41

    currency => AUD
    errormsg =>
      volume => 3729869

$ Hector:/Users/john> gnucash-cli -Q dump asx QAN
Finance::Quote fields GnuCash uses:
    symbol: QAN             <=== required
      date: **missing**     <=== recommended
  currency: AUD             <=== required
      last: 10.41           <=\
       nav:                 <=== one of these
     price:                 <=/

That suggests you have a network problem rather than something wrong with F::Q 1.70.

John Ralls

It doesn't even use Telstra's old phone lines for its VDSL2 connection, and I wouldn't expect that it used the Telstra mobile network anywhere along its connection to the ASX data server.

The only way I can think of reversing that is the rather drastic step of replacing the whole Perl library from a backup from before I did the update.

> Perhaps not, but the reason why I updated F::Q was because Gnucash 5.16-1 hung and had to be stopped with Force Quit when I tried to fetch share prices using the older version of F::Q that worked with Gnucash 5.15. The new version of F::Q doesn't cause that hang with any of the recent versions of Gnucash that I've tried, but it doesn't work, either.
