I'll add that if you want to see a report of how *each* payment broke 
down for a customer (or all customers) you can run the same report I 
outlined but do not hide the transaction data in Options > Sorting.

And as mentioned, not aggregating splits on posting will give you all 
line-item detail from the Invoices.
