Thank you for responding! I got lucky on my second try. Consors Bank gives me quotes for both ISINs. It's not clear which exchange they are from, but whatever it is, I'll settle for it. -------- Original message --------From: Kalpesh Patel <[email protected]> Date: 8/26/26 22:24 (GMT+01:00) To: 'rsbrux' <[email protected]>, [email protected] Subject: RE: [GNC] Best Quote Source for GDRs Traded in Frankfurt 1) "trial and error" is the only confirmation method to assure that you can get quotes for symbols you are looking as that namespace is all over and there is no method to the madness between different providers. AI might help you to narrow it down; it knows quite a lot about GNC.2) Module code do not embed "Symbol/abbreviation" (except a bit massaging for some) as they are either web page scraper or call official API with the symbols provided by GNC to F::Q. GNC doesn't provide anything else from what I recall (developers or other who are sure can correct me here). If you can browse their site with ISIN number then you can set your symbol in security editor inside GNC to be ISIN and it should in theory work. Trial and Error is going to be your friend here, unfortunately. -----Original Message-----From: rsbrux <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2026 12:00 PMTo: [email protected]: [GNC] Best Quote Source for GDRs Traded in FrankfurtI am looking for quotes on two different GDRs:1. Since I am looking for quotes from Frankfurt, I assume that I should be using one of the German sources, but there are too many for me to want to do "trial and error".2. Furthermore, I don't know what the various sources expect as "Symbol/abbreviation". Is there some way to see this short of examining each module's code? If given a choice, my preference would be ISIN. _______________________________________________ gnucash-user mailing list [email protected] To update your subscription preferences or to unsubscribe: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user ----- Please remember to CC this list on all your replies.
