From Trial Balance report that you generated, click on the 'Options' button
and then navigate to the 'General' tab. In there, set 'Start of
Adjusting/Closing' and 'Date of Report' to be the start date and end date
you want to search in-between, respectively.

In this report you can try once with just selecting the credit card account
and then another fresh run by selecting the "Doctors and Dentists" account.
If both do not yield what you are looking for then those transaction are not
there or they have been changed away from these accounts.

Tried from the expense account and it still doesn't return any transactions.

AS for your suggestion to run an income and expense report, I have never run
reports and under 'income and expense', I tried Trial Balance selecting only
the 'Doctors & Dentists' account and the dates I wanted. Then I clicked on
the related link and it showed me the expenses in the account, but from the
beginning of time (at least from when I started using Gnucash in 2015).

Thank You,

Reverse the workflow. Open "Doctors & Dentists" register, and perform find
to the Credit Card account first. Then as a second stage refinement add
dates. See if that shows. If it doesn't show then most likely those
transactions have incorrect contra leg. In that case review of each every
transactions will be needed to hunt it down. Alternate I can think of is to
generate an Income and expense report with those accounts and dates to see
if they are there.

Thanks, I tried 'New Search' for just the account, but it still returns
nothing.

Only thing to watch out is that make sure that you select 'Type of search'
to 'New search' when updating/modifying the search criteria as default
selection is to refine the search, otherwise those transaction are not
assigned to "Doctors & Dentists" anymore.

I suggest take two steps approach ... first find all transaction from credit
card account that are assigned to "Doctors & Dentists" and then refine it to
be between dates in the second step refinement.

Subject: [GNC] Problem with "Find"

I tried to "Find" transactions in my credit card account that were charged
to the expense account "Doctors & Dentists" between the dates 07/22/2026 &
08/24/2026. I selected "Account", "Choose Accounts", then selected
"Expense" and the "Doctors & Dentist" account. I also added the 2 dates as
additional criteria. It found no transactions and I know there were at
least 2. I tried doing it again, this time leaving out the dates, knowing
that I could just look at the last month. Again, it found o Transactions.

What am I doing wrong or is this a bug?

Thank You,
