Formatting complex numbers?

It's entirely unpractical as it is, as both the real and imaginary parts are shown with the full float numbers, and +/- nr digits or cell formatting don't seem to have any influence. The solution shown somewhere to use ROUND() doesn't seem correct, as this removes precision from the results (unlike normal formatting). Displaying a complex number occupies a column over 320 pixels wide! I'm not sure if this was intentional?
