It is sort of "create for later viewing", these strings are used in the context of a utility to create thumbnails for the thumbnail cache. "Render" appears in the button in the Cache and Data Maintenance Dialog (Edit->Thumbnail Maintenance). I chose it over using the word "Create", feel free to suggest a more appropriate button name.
