hi,

The question is : what that would accomplish for the user ?
in fact, not necessarly something new. Many people already have both
Gimp and Gqview. But i many times observe that people don't use the menu
you told about. So, what will be interesting for the user is
- staying in the same application (or think so, as it is transparent for
him. Adobe Photoshop does this)
- a very performant browsing tool (for all gimp user)
- only give an easier access to an organizing tool (many times, people
just save somewhere, this could be a way to provide saving more
logically, and taking care to the way they will open them again with
keywords for example). In that point of view, this could a complement to
save and open, very basic in gimp.
- if Gqview takes in charge Gimp's parasites, have another way the
search for images
- Could be a first step to have recursive action on several files which
actually needs scripting, what many graphist are not able to do (look at
me ! ;-) )

In fact, if this integration can be done, may be some cleanup is welcome
: for example, first part of edit menu.

I don't know how long it would be to do this. May be not much, but may
be i mistake. I know there are some plugin template in
developer.gimp.org. I already tryed to do something from sources but
since i'm not a developer (neither in C nor in gtk), I only get
compilation errors. I can go on but without help and explanation, i'll
be dead before it is working. But i'm sure this would be useful and many
people are mailing me on that subject.
