Has gqview development been abandoned?

I don't see any updates since June of last year.
Has the development of gqview been abandoned?

In any case thank you, John Ellis, for creating  this wonderful
program, simply the best image viewer that I have used
bar none. Hopefully someone will carry on from where
you have left off.
