Yes, you're right, but GTK apps freeze even if they don't directly point on 
a nfs share. I think the filebrowser widget parses all the dirs from /. KDE 
apps does not freeze like that, except if you directly open a file from an 
unreachable share. They may use threads, and kill them if they do not 
respond. I don't know.
