I have a feature request too :)
This feature comes from gimp. I don't know what it is called, maybe
"quick preview". There is a button (shown as two crossed arrows) at
the bottom right corner of image window in gimp. When you click in and
hold, it shows a small image preview with a smaller zoom window inside
right at you mouse's position. You drag your mouse, the zoom window
will follow and the main window show what's in the zoom window.
