gqview 1.5.3 -- rotating read-only files

I typically mark my pictures readonly... In gqview (1.5.3) when I try to rotate a picture, it hangs when mv writes out a message... Should the mv command in the default rotate be mv -f? It would be a good idea if there was a way to throw this up to the user...
