Exif vs. file dates in Pan View...

Hello ! I've been testing "Pan View" from a few hours, and I really think it is a *great* feature. Viewing pictures from a several days trip (for example) is a real pleasure with this. But, the dates of the pictures shown in "Pan View" are the creation dates of the files on the filesysten, not the real dates of the pictures (as given in the Exif information). Has this been done on purpose ? Because I think it would be much more convenient to sort the pictures by Exif dates instead of doing that by files dates... Very often, my pictures come from several sources (my camera, pics sent by friends), so the file creation date is often not relevant.
