To turn off random order, disable the 'random' checkbox under 'Slide show' in
the preferences dialog. Order will then be that of the file list, the order of
which can be changed from the status bar.

If you really need to set a specific order of your images, add them to a
collection and use drag and drop to order them as you want. Then drag an image
from the collection window back onto the main window, starting a slide show will
then cycle through the images of the collection (you could also right click the
collection window and select 'view in new window' and start a slideshow from the
resulting new window.

Limitation of the command line parser of GQview (it is very basic).

Control + Q can be used to quit GQview, changing the behavior of a key based on
a command line option will lead to confusion.
