GQView 2.0.1 unable to display XPM Images

Hello,

As the subject says, I recently compiled gqview 2.0.1 from scratch and
it will not display any xpm image. It just shows the "broken" icon
with that red X mark. All the xpm images load up fine in gimp. I'm
almost certain gqview was able to display xpm's in the the past. I
recompiled and deleted my .gqview directory but cannot get it to
display them again.

Is there anything else I could try?
