Gqview's sorting is painfully slow

I have noticed that the "sort" option available with gqview is extremely slow compared with sorting with other programs. I have an athlon 1Ghz processor with about 1Gb of RAM, running Redhat fedora core 4. I have a directory with about 2700 images. I am running gqview 2.1.1, but have observed the same issues with all recent versions of Gqview. Suppose I start by having the directory sorted according to name, and then change it to sort by date. Here are the times using various programs on the same machine: Konqueror: 1 second Gwenview: 1.5 seconds Nautilus: 1 second Gqview: 51 seconds (!!!) (Note: thumnails, icons etc are turned off) This has got to be a sorting bug, because the initial sort does not take so long. For example, if I leave the directory, change the sort type and re-enter the directory, the file list is displayed within a couple of seconds. This is the only thing I find annoying about gqview, which by all other measures is the perfect image browser. Magnus
