Typical situation is e.g. when you have big set of fresh digital pictures at the end of busy travelling day, and need to prepare something show-able during some 20 minutes or so. It simply doesn't cut to rotate again each vertical format picture in front of public, and it is simply impossible time-wise to call monstrous Gimp for each picture just to rotate it. ACDSee can easily rotate pictures and save them in _another_ file. I am sure that in Linux this could be even easier. Some identification of rotated image could be added to the end of file name, just to keep file sequence the same. All other image editing functions do not need to be included in GQview because they can be performed later when time permits. Rotation is totally another thing because it is simply inevitable and necessary to show image at all.
