Q to quit - ./src/layout_util.c & accels

I never like to code :)
so I used to modify ~/.gqview/accels to support the old exit with Q
now with last versions the trick isn't working anymore :(
so I was forced to modify the code to reintroduce exit with q (a fast 
and senseless editing of ./src/layout_util.c)
there is any chance to have user accels modification reintroduced?
I don't want to go deep inside the code ...
