jpeg support

Hi!
Im new to the list and to gqview.
Im compiling gqview (tried latest stable and dev ver.) succsesfully but 
without jpeg support. I have jpeg on my system but configure dont seem 
to look for the jpeg lib, and there are no options on jpeg support in 
the configure script. png works ok.

ldconfig -p |grep jpeg
        libjpeg.so.62 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62
        libjpeg.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/libjpeg.so

linux 2.6.9 and jpeg v6. os based on the lfs book.
