Jpeg support is through the GTK+ library, there are two possible causes:

1) GTK+ was not compiled with jpeg support - reconfigure/compile GTK+ after
installing libjpeg

2) for some reason the jpeg file extension was disabled in GQview, check that a
jpeg line exists and is enabled in the filtering tab in the options window - if
the jpeg line is missing see step 1.
