You mentioned that you liked GH's feature set, such as the CI system. So
trac was insufficient. That I understood.

Now, maybe I'm dense, but your opening email said the server SW stack was
outdated. Normally, this would mean that you install the latest version of
the OS and trac, or am I missing something?

That doesn't sound like a herculean thing to do. Most Linux people
distro-update every so often.
