Hi,

mc.ext isn't used at all - so other file types (zip, tar, pdf...) aren't 
handled as well? Or just your sound files (mp3...)?)

If none is handled: user rights of mc.ext and /usr/lib/ext.d are correct 
(read & execute for all). What happens if you want to edit the extension 
file with mc?

If others are handled: Maybe your sound.sh uses a program not 
installed/not in the path of the actual mc user? Or you don't have the 
rights therefore? After trying to start sound file, some message in the 
background (ctrl+o)? What if you start your sound.sh with a sound file 
manually? It works?
