Expectations for subshell

Hello,
Since the midnight-commander.org website seems to struggle to send me my
registration email, I'm writing here.
mc version 4.8.30
If I execute in the subshell:
sleep 1 && echo test
And then quickly press <Ctrl-O> to return to the panel view, now I:
1. can't execute any commands from the inline prompt, as it complains
about the command already running, even after the 1 second has passed
2. if I enter subshell again, any output of the running command that
was printed while subshell was hidden is lost (that is, I don't see
the echoed "test")
3. when I enter subshell again, the directory that I've changed while
navigating in the panels is lost, and I'm put back into the original
directory the command was executed from.
I'm not sure if these necessarily are bugs, but they worsen the overall
mc experience quite a bit.
Regards,
Nojus
