It doesn't bother me that much, but since someone else had similar
problem and nobody could confirm it, I added my 2¢

even simpler reproduce procedure:
• ctrl-o
• `sleep 1`
• ctrl-o before above command is done (add more seconds if needed)
• `ls` (without going back to the ctrl-o mode)
• error message: "The shell is already running a command"
