remote connection bookmarks ?

I just used a ssh connection and i can see its address is stored by mc as a history.

First problem is trivial, i can see the little ^ button at the end of the input field, is that indicating the history ? But i don't know which keys to use for it to show /B select.

Second problem is, is there a way to have a specific bookmark file, (ideally for generic purposes but) at least for remote connections; because i have moved everything in the ~/.cache (where the history seems to be saved) to a tmpfs out of security concerns; meaning anything in there will be lost with shutdown.
Yes i could work with symlinks but i would prefer to have a cleaner solution ...
