Yes, please try with master. There was a recent fix for line endings =
that could theoretically match [[:space:]]. I just tried it with the =
editor and it works as expected.

If it still doesn't work, we would need to turn your report into a unit =
test and see why it fails. It's not clear to me why this shouldn't work =
correctly from the current code. It should call `mc_search` with =
filename and pattern in regex mode and there shouldn't be a match.
