Hi, I am using mc-4.8.33 in debian 9. After "configure", "make" and "make install" I had to copy wrapper script and other links to /usr/share/mc. But then everything worked ! The only things I miss are, 1. Bookmarks in mcedit are forgotten when the editor is closed. However this doesn't happen when I use mcedit as root. For "root" user the bookmarks are saved. 2.
