I tried PalmProject a few years ago.  I never used it
much since I end up dragging my laptop to every
meeting anyway.  It did a nice job of synching with MS
Project  via .csv file - I don't imagine it would be
too difficult to develop an interface for MrProject.

Looking at Evolution, yes it is more limited in task
handling than Outlook.  Outlook for instance will let
you set % complete on a task, whereas Evloution tasks
are simply either completed or not.  Still, it would
be a good way to get some level of automatic status
updates from project participants, and Evolution (if
true to its name) will evolve.  :)
