You could use vnc as an interim solution. 
http://www.realvnc.com
VNC is similar to PCanywhere or Citrix metaframe in
that it creates a virtual desktop that you can view
from a window on your Windows based PC.  So you could
use your Linux box as a server running several virtual
Gnome desktops that are accessible from any PC in your
office.
This should help folks get accustomed to Gnome and
MrProject with minor investment in effort while
retaining their current desktop environment.
