I just started using mp0.7 and have found a similar constraint. 
Resources are not available system wide (I assume that to mean, across 
different project files).  

It would be extremely useful to have resources stored as an independent 
object so that one can import the resource pool into a new project, 
deleting what's not needed and adding new resources for that project. 
 At this time, resources are internalized into the same single project file.

A work around is to create a separate "project file" which only contains 
resources, i.e. resources.mrproject and use that as a template to create 
new projects (i.e. tasks are empty in this file) and populate the 
project with new tasks while having the resources already defined. 
 Remember to save the new project with a different name otherwise you'll 
hammer your "resources.mrproject" file.

Customization of mrproject essentially doesn't exist at this point. I'm 
sure it's on tap for the full version whenever it's ready.

Can't assign cost to a task, but certainly to a resource.  I haven't 
tried to aggregate project costs at this point.  It would be useful to 
be able to cost out a project and achieve the granularity of costing out 
tasks too.
