MrProject under SuSe 8.1

Has anybody been able to get the MrProject program to run under SuSe 8.1.?
I've installed both libmrproject and MrProject 0.6 on Suse 8.1 Personal. The 
program installs ok, but when started only shows the 'New' and 'Open' icons 
on the top bar. There is no bar on the right as shown in the screenshots.

Anybody have any ideas of what may be wrong.?
