Modifying start time

Hi,

I can modify the start date of a task by clicking on the date and using
the calender. The constraint is: must start on. I can choose any day I
like, but once I click OK, all dates before today are discarded. Only
today and dates after today are accepted. Why is this?
I have already done some tasks before today and I still want them in the
task list.
