We've had other reports of failure on FreeBSD just recently. Do you get
a spew of warnings when you run it?

It's probably related to a strange linking problem, that I plan to fix
by rewiring some of the libtool parts of the build. I'll try to do it in
a few days, and hopefully it will solve your problems.
