Syncing evolution 1.4 with an iPAQ 1940

Hi,
I am working with evolution since a year (1.4.6) and try to connect my
HP iPAQ 1940 to evolution using synce.
I can connect to the device and can use pls, pstatus, etc. However, my
evolution doesn't seem to know the device. I have the necessary plugins
installed (libevolution.sync.so.(0,000) but nothing happens.
What is missing?
(I can't upgrade to evolution 2.0 due to the fact that RPM insists I
miss a library although it seems to be at the right place with the
correct permissions).
Has anybody a suggestion?
