Hello,

I am trying to use MultiSync to synchronize my desktop Evolution (E2 on
FC3) with my cellphone (Siemens M65) and organizer (iPAQ 5550). Although
it runs in principle, there are numerous problems:

  - The synchronization sometimes trashes one of the databases without
warning (disappearing phonebook, duplicated appointments, etc.).

  - The synce plugin feels a tad too experimental, ActiveSync on the
organizer sometimes claims to be synchronizing an hour after MultiSync
has terminated, etc.

I would be grateful for answers to a couple of related questions:

  - Can the entire setup eventually work reliably ? (The existence of
multiple synchronization pairs to cover the three devices, with
Evolution as the "central" server.)

  - Will there always be loss of data due to various devices having
various limits on what can be stored, or can I use some "central" server
in place of Evolution that would always preserve missing data ? (For
example, the cellphone does not support comments with appointments,
while Evolution does, if I edit my appointment in the cellphone, will I
always loose the comment ?)

  - Is there any reasonably easy way to check for what is wrong in the
communication protocols and formats and submit the information so that
the devices are supported better ?

Regards, Petr
