Hello Tom,

thank you for your answer. It helped. :-)

But there is a new problem:
Translation of umlaute:

If I have the following entry in my evolution phonebook
München
it is synchronized to the phone and appears there as
München

(This also happens if a past the word "München" into a text file test
and issue the command: recode l1..UTF-8 test)

If I change it in the phone to
München
it appears correctly in evolution. Now I do some changes in the
evolution phonebook entry and synchronize back. Then there is again the
wrong version in the phone!?!

Also what is lost is the information about the type of a phone number.
Only the "mobile phone" number is synchronized correctly. All other seem
to have no type in the evolution plugin (at least they do not appear
in the list view). If I change it to e.g. home phone it appears in the
list view. Synchronization seems to not change it. But if I apply some
changes in the phonebook on the phone and synchronize back, this type
information is lost again.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thank you all for your help.

Best regards,
Joachim

P.S. I hope the encoding of the mail is not mixing up every thing.
