test pan header patch

I'm trying to get the User-Agent header to show platform & build/version.

(plus I thought it'd be cute to show that we have Calin's "test thread" 
patch applied, too ;) )

I'll open a bugreport to submit the patch in a proper way, if this looks 
good, also wondering if it'll pass RFCs and all that.
