Let’s see if this works.
I just did a run on a PNG I use,
then added the generated line to this post.
The best options seem to be, in this case:
       Pad Color: Black
        Contrast: Equalize
       Dithering: Floyd-Steinburg (0.5)
 Bitmap Cleaning: Cleaning (1)

Now I wonder how to generate a _color_ xface?
