Ma pan-0.145 on Gentoo Linux / Gnome 3 has  some king of dementia.

When only checking news, but not answering, not postinst pan-0.145
forgets the author profile and mark read articles as unread.
Abeter switching between newsgroups the posts and restarting they are
marked correctly.
