I tried the Z22/gpilot/F7 combination for a few months now (on-and-off).
No luck at all. Only last weekend I gave the Z22/F7/jpilot combination a
change; no luck yet either, but then again, I've only tried for a few
hours :-(

I'm wondering the same question. I would have thought that posting to
this email group would have helped get some responses, but so far it's
been no response at all. My suspicion is that it is an interaction
between one or more components (udev and gnome-pilot).

Did you say you tried gpilot and that did not work? I'm a bit confused
as to who said what, as I just signed onto this list. Sorry.

I wonder if there is a IRC channel that would give us more immediate
help.

So who should we ask for help? The gnome-pilot folks? the F7 folks?
Redhat? palm? Where's the wiz that can help us?

BTW, I have spent the whole morning trying to get my Z22 to talk to
jpilot (FC7) (I could live with jpilot if I'd have to); no luck either.

Same udevd version on my F7 box. My kernel is a bit later than yours:

Linux ... 2.6.22.5-76.fc7 #1 SMP Thu Aug 30 13:08:59 EDT 2007 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'm seeing similar anomalies on my syncing of my Treo 650. The first
time it works, but stops working subsequent times. Only will work again
upon a reboot (tried logging completely out of the GNOME desktop and
back in again but that did not fix the problem).

Tom,

Thanks for getting back to me:

here's the info you're asking for:

Linux 2.6.22.7-85.fc7 #1 SMP Fri Sep 21 19:53:05 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386

Same for me here, it was not FC7, but is was also "some" upgrade that
made it stop working, I suspect a kernel upgrade where the usb timing
has changed...
May I ask you what kernel you are using, and what the version of udev
is?

Same here again, I will keep trying, but for the moment I do have no
idea what to try anymore...

Kind regards,
