newbe development questions

Hello,

I have recently become interested in learning more about Planner.  I have
the following questions as I start to learn more.

1. Is there any recommendation of where to start learning about the
project?  For example, are there requirements people are working
against/writing?  Is there a design document that might explain software
architecture?  Are there any development or verification plans explaining
coding standards, process, etc?

2. Is there any sort of high level goals for what Planner is meant to be?

3. Is there any sort of roadmap/schedule for Planner?

4. In general I am finding it difficult to find much information on the web
regarding Planner.  Is there a documentation effort/plan?

Answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated.  Also, if you have
any general recommendations for a developer interested in starting to learn
the project they are welcome.

I am a software developer who uses project management software as part of my
daily job.  I think that an open source PM program is a very appealing idea
and could have great potential.  I repeatedly find myself withing that I
could customize/extend the tool that I currently use.  At this point I am
just wanting to learn more about the project goals, plans, and general
development of the program.  Maybe some day I will find the time to
contribute.
