Current situation:
  * we have support for GDA 3.0 which is unmaintained and that no
distribution includes anymore
  * we don't have support (yet) for GDA 4.0 which is current stable release
  * GDA 5.0 is around the corner, it might not be worth writing code
for 4.0 and then having to do it all over again in a not so distant
future.
