Installation on RedHat9

Hi,

Is it possible to install pybliographer-1.2.3 on RedHat9?
I have seen many discussions of recode problems, but no solution
which works for me.

I have installed recode-3.6 (with recode.patch)

In trying to then install python-bibtex-1.2.0:
python setup.py build appears to work
python setup.py install fails with the message
'ImportError: librecode.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory'

locate librecode.so.0 ->

/usr/local/lib/librecode.so.0

I know nothing about python, but it would seem that it is unable to
find the newly installed library, and some path or other should maybe
be updated. (I'm using python2.2, default on this OS). /usr/local/lib
is in my /etc/ld.so.conf, but maybe that is not relevant.

Thanks

Dave Evans
