Actually yes, it returned the proxy adress I use at work! I have two profiles in my mandrake install: one for work (using a proxy address), and the other for home (without proxy). For some reason the home profile seems to keep that variable true... It's weird, since svn works fine, and gui applications are ok (firefox, etc) so I thought everything was ok. But w3m also borks, as does links. So I typed $http_proxy= and now pybliographic fetches medline entries.
