Thanks for your reply. I'm happy to be not a lonely stranger.

To Frederic: I had a look to the mailing list archives and I found
some helpful advices about my doubts and questions. I downloaded the
stable branch and I began to look at it. The code looks really clean
and elegant, I like it a lot, that looks like good Python to learn,
but it is not that much commented (hint: is that something that should
be corrected in the future? when I code 'for the public' I have the
tendency to uber-comment it, even in trivial details, but I know
that's not a position everyone agrees) , so I'm in the process of
figuring out what it does and how...  I'll probably come out with
questions about it quite soon!
