Do you have specific needs ? This module has an history of painful 
problems due to
the issue with GNU recode, but has been quite unmodified for a long 
time.

In the 1.3 code, the (preliminary) BibTeX parser is fully native (also 
because we expect
that people with large collections will convert them once to the native 
format and only export
from time to time)
