garnome on FreeBSD (OS X Panther)

Has anyone else tried/succeeded with garnome on Mac OS X Panther 
(Darwin/FreeBSD)?

I'm actually using Mac OS X Panther (freeBSD) with all the developer 
tools installed...socket.h & netbd.h arn't found...I'll tell Apple?  
Any suggestions?

I'm installing using make install in /meta/gnome-desktop, latest 
version of garnome.
